Affiliation Services provided to Government Schools by Educational Boards Exempted from GST, CBIC notifies

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has exempted GST on affiliation services provided by educational boards to government schools. This exemption, notified through Notification No. 08/2024-Central Tax (Rate), applies to services rendered to schools established and controlled by the Central or State Governments, Union Territories, or local authorities. The exemption aims to reduce the financial burden on government schools and promote educational initiatives.
