Burning Dead Body Inside Someone's House Disrespectful, An Act Of Desecration: Rajasthan High Court
The Rajasthan High Court rejected the bail applications of two individuals accused of burning a dead body inside the complainant’s house, an act they claimed was part of the tribal practice of “Mautana.” The court found that the act of burning the body inside the house was highly disrespectful and an act of desecration. The accused, along with 40-50 others, had trespassed the house, vandalized it, and set the body on fire. The court emphasized that such actions demonstrate a profound disregard for the law and that granting bail could intimidate witnesses. The bail applications were thus rejected.
