CBDT Chairman Dedicates Taxpayers' Lounge at IITF 2024, Launches Brochures on Direct Taxation

At the Indian International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024, CBDT Chairman Shri Ravi Agrawal inaugurated the Taxpayers’ Lounge, dedicated to educating and assisting taxpayers. The lounge offers various services, including assistance with PAN applications, e-filing, and queries related to international taxation and faceless assessments. Additionally, five informational brochures on direct taxation were launched to facilitate taxpayer understanding. The lounge also features a Children’s Corner with interactive activities to introduce young visitors to taxation concepts. Events like Nukkad Natak, quiz shows, and drawing competitions are organized to engage visitors. The initiative aims to highlight the role of taxpayers in nation-building and promote awareness about taxpayer services. The theme of the lounge, “My contribution in developed India, my income tax is my responsibility,” underscores the importance of taxpayer participation in India’s progress. This effort reflects the Income Tax Department’s commitment to enhancing taxpayer education and services.
