CBDT Extends Form 10B/10BB Filing Deadline to 10th November 2024

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline for filing Form 10B and 10BB until November 10, 2024. This extension, issued under section 119 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, addresses the concerns of trusts, institutions, and funds that faced challenges in submitting their audit reports in the correct forms. Previously, the deadline was October 31, 2023. The extension aims to reduce hardships for entities that missed the previous deadline. Organizations required to submit Form 10B (or Form 10BB, as applicable) can now file their audit reports by the new deadline. The circular was issued on October 7, 2024, and has received approval from competent authorities. Tax professionals and institutions are encouraged to utilize this extension to ensure compliance with the updated filing requirements.
