CBDT Forms Internal Committee for Income-Tax Act Review, Launches Web Page for Public Suggestions on E-Portal

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has created an internal committee to review and overhaul the Income Tax Act, 1961. The objective is to streamline the tax law, make it more transparent, and reduce litigation. Public input is being solicited through a new webpage launched on the e-filing portal. Stakeholders are encouraged to submit suggestions, which will be used to simplify the language of the Act, remove obsolete provisions, and minimize compliance burdens for taxpayers.
