CBIC allows Temporary Manual Submission of IGCR-3 Statements, Electronic Filing to Begin in 2025
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has allowed the temporary manual submission of IGCR-3 Statements for importers facing difficulties with electronic filing. This decision follows challenges in filing monthly returns under the Import of Goods at Concessional Rate of Duty or for Specified End Use Rules (IGCRS Rules), 2022. The CBIC has permitted manual submission to jurisdictional officers until electronic filing begins in February 2025. An Excel utility will be provided by December 2024 to assist with electronic filing. Importers are encouraged to use this utility for submitting IGCR-3/IGCR-3A statements for current and past periods, with a final submission deadline of January 31, 2025. This measure aims to ease the transition to electronic filing and ensure compliance with the IGCRS Rules. The CBIC’s decision reflects its commitment to facilitating trade and addressing stakeholder concerns during the transition period.
