The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has relaxed the mandatory quality control order for cookware for micro units. The relaxation aims to support small businesses by reducing compliance burdens and promoting ease of doing business. The DPIIT’s decision is part of a broader effort to encourage the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in India. The relaxation of quality control norms will enable micro units to compete more effectively in the market and expand their operations. The DPIIT is also working on other initiatives to support MSMEs, including financial assistance, skill development programs, and market access.
