Dabur expands haircare portfolio with Sesa Care acquisition | Company Business News
Dabur India Ltd will acquire a 51% stake in hair care company Sesa Care Pvt. Ltd for INR 315-325 crore. This acquisition, Dabur’s second in two years, will help expand its presence in the INR 900 crore ayurvedic hair oil market. Dabur will pay INR 12.6 crore to True North, Sesa’s existing owner, and assume Sesa’s debt of INR 289 crore. The merger, expected to complete in 15 to 18 months, will leverage Dabur’s extensive distribution network and category expertise to grow the Sesa brand. This move strengthens Dabur’s position in the value-added hair oil market, competing with brands like Hindustan Unilever’s Indulekha, Emami’s Kesh King, and Marico’s Parachute. Sesa Care’s flagship product, Sesa Ayurvedic Oil, will complement Dabur’s existing hair oil portfolio.
