DGFT restricts Imports of RMGs, Wooden Furniture and other Goods from Bangladesh via Certain Ports & LCSs/ICPs
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has introduced restrictions on the import of several categories of goods, specifically readymade garments (RMG), wooden furniture, and certain other items originating from Bangladesh. These restrictions will apply to imports made through designated ports in India. The DGFT's move is intended to more effectively regulate trade conducted under the Letter of Credit System (LCSS) and the Inland Container Port System (ICPS) frameworks. By channeling these imports through specific entry points, the government aims to ensure stricter compliance with the prevailing import policies and to better monitor the flow of goods across the border.
