Duplication of Invoices in GST IMS Sorted! GSTN rectifies GST Portal Issues

The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has resolved the issue of duplicate invoices appearing in GSTR-2B for September and October 2024. Taxpayers had reported seeing the same invoices in both months, causing confusion and potential compliance issues. The GSTN team identified the problem and worked to rectify it, assuring taxpayers that the issue was being addressed on priority. Taxpayers were advised to raise tickets at the GST self-service portal for assistance and share ticket numbers via direct message. The GSTN also clarified that GSTR-2B would not be generated for Month M-1 and M-2 for QRMP taxpayers, who will receive GSTR-2B on a quarterly basis only. This resolution aims to streamline the GST compliance process and ensure accurate tax reporting, alleviating concerns about invoice duplication and enhancing the reliability of the GST system.
