Equity mutual funds in India saw a 10% decline in inflows to Rs 34,419 crore in September, marking the lowest level since April. The decline was primarily due to a sharp slump in inflows to thematic and large-cap funds. Despite the decrease, this marks the 43rd consecutive month of net inflows into equity funds, according to the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI). The overall mutual fund industry witnessed an outflow of Rs 71,114 crore in September, driven by withdrawals from debt schemes. However, the industry’s net assets under management rose to Rs 67 trillion from Rs 66.7 trillion in August. Sector or thematic funds attracted the highest net inflows of Rs 13,255 crore, although this was lower than the previous month. Large-cap funds saw a drop in inflows to Rs 1,769 crore from Rs 2,637 crore in August.
