The GST Network (GSTN) issued an advisory on GSTR-2B and the Invoice Management System (IMS). It highlighted that GSTR-2B for October 2024 was not generated for some taxpayers due to specific scenarios. For taxpayers under the Quarterly Return Monthly Payment (QRMP) scheme, GSTR-2B is not generated for the first two months of the quarter. Additionally, taxpayers who have not filed their previous period GSTR-3B will not see GSTR-2B for subsequent months. The advisory provides steps to resolve these issues, such as filing the pending GSTR-3B and using the “Compute GSTR-2B” feature on the IMS dashboard. The advisory also lists various resources and advisories related to IMS, including manuals and FAQs, to assist taxpayers in understanding and using the system effectively. This initiative aims to improve compliance and reduce discrepancies in Input Tax Credit (ITC) claims by ensuring accurate invoice management and timely filing of returns.
