The GST Network (GSTN) has introduced additional FAQs on the Invoice Management System (IMS), which is now available to taxpayers. This system helps taxpayers match their records with invoices issued by suppliers to claim the correct Input Tax Credit (ITC). Taxpayers can accept, reject, or keep invoices pending in the system for future use. The first GSTR-2B, based on actions taken in IMS, will be generated for the return period of October 2024 on November 14, 2024. The FAQs provide detailed guidance on using the new functionality, aiming to streamline the ITC claim process and reduce discrepancies. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of GST compliance. The IMS is expected to significantly improve the ease of doing business by providing a more transparent and user-friendly platform for managing invoices and ITC claims.
