High Court Issues Notice On MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar's Plea Against Disqualification From Delhi Assembly
The Delhi High Court issued a notice on MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar’s plea against his disqualification from the Delhi Legislative Assembly by the Speaker. Tanwar, who contested the 2020 elections as an Aam Aadmi Party candidate but later joined the BJP, was disqualified under the anti-defection law. He argued that the disqualification was done in haste without a personal hearing and that the allegations against him were false. The court sought responses from the Speaker’s office and MLA Dilip Kumar Pandey, who filed the disqualification petition. The matter is set for a hearing on December 9.
