India Imposes $217/MT Anti-Dumping Duty on Isopropyl Alcohol Imports from China and Multiple Nations
India has imposed a $217 per metric ton (MT) anti-dumping duty on isopropyl alcohol (IPA) imports from China, Taiwan, and several other countries. IPA, widely used in pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and personal care products, was being imported at below-market prices, negatively impacting domestic producers. After an investigation into the dumping practices, the duty was introduced to create a level playing field for Indian manufacturers. This action is part of India’s ongoing efforts to protect its industries from unfair international competition and to promote fair trade practices.
