ITAT Members get reshuffled Places of Posting: Central Govt issues Transfer Order
The Central Government has issued a transfer order on October 9, 2024, reshuffling several Honourable Members of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT). This reshuffling, made in the public interest and due to administrative exigencies, is effective from October 21, 2024. A total of 12 Honourable Members have been transferred to different locations. The transfer order was issued in consultation with the senior-most Vice Presidents of the ITAT. This reshuffling aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the ITAT by ensuring that members are placed in locations where their expertise and experience can be best utilized. The ITAT plays a crucial role in adjudicating income tax disputes, and such administrative decisions are essential for maintaining the tribunal’s operational efficiency and ensuring timely resolution of cases.
