Karnataka High Court Seeks Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's Stand In Plea Seeking Transfer Of MUDA Case Probe From Lokayukta Police To CBI
The Karnataka High Court issued a notice to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others in response to a petition seeking a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotments. The petition, filed by RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna, argues that the investigation should be transferred from the Lokayukta police to the CBI to ensure impartiality. The Lokayukta police have already questioned Siddaramaiah’s wife and have summoned the Chief Minister for questioning on November 6. The High Court has directed the Lokayukta police to submit a status report on their investigation by the next hearing on November 26. The case involves the allotment of 14 housing sites to Siddaramaiah’s wife as compensation for the acquisition of a 3.16-acre plot. The court’s decision to seek the Chief Minister’s stand on the plea highlights the ongoing scrutiny of the case.
