Kerala High Court Stays Proceedings Against Actor Edavela Babu In Sexual Harassment Case

The case involved allegations of Babu seeking sexual favors from a woman for membership in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). The complainant alleged that Babu demanded Rs. 2 lakh for membership, which he denied, claiming the fee was only Rs. 1 lakh. Babu argued that the complaint was false and that there was an unexplained delay of six years in filing the FIR. The court’s stay order temporarily halts the proceedings, with the case next scheduled for November 18.
