Rahul Gandhi Citizenship Row: Allahabad HC Petitioner Appears Before Delhi High Court, Claims CBI Is Investigating The Issue
The Delhi High Court was informed that a CBI probe has been initiated into Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship status. The investigation stems from a PIL filed in the Allahabad High Court by a Karnataka BJP worker, which claims Gandhi holds dual citizenship of India and Britain. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy also filed a plea in the Delhi High Court seeking the cancellation of Gandhi’s Indian citizenship. The court emphasized the need to avoid conflicting orders from different courts and directed the petitioner to submit relevant documents. The court allowed the petitioner to file an affidavit detailing the developments in the Allahabad High Court case. The matter is scheduled for further hearing on December 6, with the court seeking a status report from the Ministry of Home Affairs on Swamy’s representation against Gandhi.
