The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has enhanced the transaction limits for UPI Lite, which facilitates small-value payments in offline mode. Under this new development, users can make UPI Lite transactions of up to Rs. 500 per transaction, with a maximum cumulative limit of Rs. 2000 in a day. This enhancement aims to promote seamless payments in areas with limited internet connectivity. UPI Lite transactions can be processed even in the absence of an internet connection, thus supporting financial inclusion.
