Sabarimala Darshan: Kerala High Court Reinforces Ban On Modifications And Distraction On Vehicles Carrying Pilgrims
The Kerala High Court has directed the Police and Motor Vehicle Department to ensure that vehicles carrying Sabarimala pilgrims comply with safety standards, following accidents involving a KSRTC bus and a contract carriage vehicle. The court emphasized the prohibition of unauthorized modifications and fittings in vehicles, such as LED lights and high-power audio systems, which pose safety hazards. The court also directed the Travancore Devaswom Board to spread awareness about the ‘Special Queue’ system for senior citizens and persons with disabilities at Sabarimala. This ruling aims to enhance the safety of pilgrims and ensure compliance with regulations to prevent accidents.
