The Union Government has released Rs. 1.78 lakh crore to state governments, including an advance instalment of Rs. 89,086.50 crore, ahead of the festive season. This release, which occurred on October 10, 2024, is in addition to the regular instalment due in October. The advance instalment aims to support states in accelerating capital spending and financing their development and welfare-related expenditures. The state-wise distribution of funds includes significant allocations to states like Uttar Pradesh, which received Rs. 31,962 crores, and Bihar, which received Rs. 17,921 crores.
