Virtual CFO Services
Remote CFO support for budgeting, reporting, cash flow, compliance coordination and financial decision-making.
- Estimate Cost
- ₹25,000 – ₹1,50,000
- Typical duration
- 30 days
Service overview
A remote version of CFO support, suited to businesses that need senior financial input but do not require a full-time CFO.
The engagement is meant to turn financial information into decisions owners can act on. The scope should fit the existing accounts team and the frequency of reporting management can maintain.
Who needs it? / When is it needed?
Start-ups, SMEs, founder-led businesses and companies building a finance function.
It is particularly useful when management is making hiring, pricing, borrowing or expansion decisions and needs to understand their effect on cash and margins before committing.
What to expect from the WCP Professionals
Regular calls with management, review of financial numbers, cash-flow monitoring, management reports, budget reviews, coordination with accountants and practical guidance on financial decisions.
How the work would proceed:
- The professional would first agree how records will be shared, who closes the books and when management needs its monthly pack
- They would review the figures remotely, ask the accounts team to resolve unusual entries, prepare cash-flow and performance summaries, and hold periodic reviews with management
- The arrangement works best when the client can respond to questions quickly and share updated figures on a regular schedule
Key deliverables
Monthly MIS, cash-flow forecast, budget tracker, receivables/payables report, key-ratio dashboard and management review note.
Reports should show the underlying assumptions and highlight items that need management attention, rather than presenting numbers without explanation. Responsibility for bookkeeping and statutory sign-off should be identified separately.
Standard turnaround time
Set-up: 5-10 working days. Thereafter, reporting is generally monthly.
The first cycle may take longer while records are cleaned up and reporting definitions are agreed. Later cycles become more predictable once the source data and monthly close process are settled.
Government fees, timelines & key outcomes
- No government fee for the advisory service
- Regulatory filing fees, taxes, audit fees and bank charges remain separate
- The key outcome is regular senior-level financial oversight
The engagement fee depends on reporting frequency, number of entities, transaction volume and the extent of hands-on support. Audit, tax return, certification and specialist advisory costs should be quoted separately.
Forms & filings involved
None as an inherent part of the service.
CFO support does not itself create a prescribed government form. Any tax, company-law or regulatory filing should be listed separately in the engagement and prepared against the applicable current requirements.
Documents required
Books, bank statements, GST and tax records, payroll data, existing budgets, loan details and management accounts.
Where records do not reconcile, the professional should flag the difference and ask for an explanation instead of silently adjusting the figures. Source records are more useful than screenshots of summary dashboards alone.
What we need from you
Reliable access to financial information and a nominated person from the business for day-to-day coordination.
A named person should be available to answer questions from accounts and operations. Management will also need to approve budgets, assumptions and policy changes; those business decisions cannot be made by the adviser alone.
Important conditions
Virtual CFO support works only if underlying accounting data is reasonably complete. It is not a substitute for an audit.
The usefulness of the reports depends on the accuracy and timeliness of the underlying books. Forecasts are planning tools, not guarantees of revenue, funding or profitability.
Additional information
This can be scaled up or down as the business grows and an internal finance team develops
The arrangement can begin with a financial-health review and expand into monthly reporting, cash planning and coordination with auditors or tax advisers if needed.
The estimated cost covers indicative professional fees only. Government fees, stamp duty and taxes are payable at actuals.
How it works
- 1. Raise a service enquiry describing your requirement.
- 2. A Relationship Manager reviews it and opens it for bidding.
- 3. Pay into escrow and assign the professional you select.
- 4. Track progress to completion, then accept and release payment.
Frequently asked questions

Commonly monthly, with ad hoc support for urgent decisions.
What reports does a virtual CFO provide?
