Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a significant $230-million commitment on June 13 to support generative AI startups globally. This investment aims to expand its Generative AI Accelerator program, which will assist 80 founders and innovators worldwide, including 20 from Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ).
Applications for the AWS Generative AI Accelerator are open until July 19, targeting startups with technical and business programming needs. Selected startups will receive up to $1 million in AWS credits, along with mentorship from industry experts. In APJ,
AWS also launched the AWS Generative AI Spotlight program, a four-week accelerator for pre- and seed-stage startups focusing on generative AI applications.
Participants will gain access to AWS Activate and up to $100,000 in AWS Credits. Matt Taylor from AWS highlighted the programs' role in fostering AI innovation across different growth stages in the APJ region.
