Agri credit growth slows - Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data indicates a slowdown in credit growth to the agriculture sector. For the fortnight ended March 21, the bank credit growth to the farm sector decelerated to 10.4% year-on-year, a significant drop from 20% in the corresponding fortnight of the previous year. Additionally, growth in credit card outstanding also saw a contraction. This data points to a cooling in agricultural lending and consumer credit.
