A Bengaluru court denied bail to Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna in the first sexual abuse case against him. Special Sessions Court Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat issued the order. The allegations emerged after over 2,900 videos depicting sexual assaults were circulated online. An FIR was filed on April 28 against Revanna and his father at Holenaraseepur police station, including charges under various sections of the IPC, such as sexual harassment, stalking, criminal intimidation, and rape. The complaint was initiated by one of the victims, and an SIT led by IPS officer BK Singh investigated the case. Revanna fled to Germany after the April 26 Lok Sabha polls but was arrested on his return to India on May 31. He has been in SIT custody under multiple charges, with the current custody extending till June 29.
