The High Court Bar Association, Calcutta, has resolved to abstain from judicial proceedings following the assault of Advocate Sourav Mandal by police personnel. The incident occurred on July 21 when Mandal was attacked by sub-inspector Sudipto Sanyal at the Nepalganj police outpost. The sub-inspector allegedly threatened to file false charges against Mandal. In response, the Bar Association demanded the immediate suspension of the officer and action against those responsible. The Association's members will not participate in court proceedings until their demands are met.
