Charges levied by Market Infrastructure Institutions – True to Label
Starting October 1, 2024, Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs) will be required to redesign their charge structures to ensure transparency and fairness, as per a new SEBI circular. The new regulations mandate that MIIs must ensure charges levied on members for services are "True to Label," meaning the amounts recovered from end clients must match what MIIs receive. Additionally, MIIs must adopt a uniform, non-slab-based charge structure and consider reducing per-unit charges to benefit end clients. The circular directs MIIs to redesign processes, amend relevant regulations, notify members, and report implementation status to SEBI. This measure aims to uphold transparency, equal access, and a level playing field in the market.
