The Indian Customs Electronic Gateway (ICEGATE) will be implemented for non-IT/ITES Special Economic Zones (SEZs) from July 1, 2024. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has clarified that SEZ units must migrate to ICEGATE to avail RODTEP benefits. SEZ-Online will be used parallelly till July 15, 2024, but without RODTEP benefits. Bills of Entry for pre-ICEGATE imports can continue on SEZ-Online. The transition is aimed at improving efficiency and compliance within the customs system.
