Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was granted bail by a Delhi court on Thursday in connection with the money laundering case linked to the defunct Delhi excise policy of 2021-22. \r
Vacation Judge Niyay Bindu passed the order after a two-day hearing involving Kejriwal and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED sought a 48-hour deferment to challenge the bail bond signing, but the judge refused, requiring the bond to be presented before the duty judge the following day. \r
Kejriwal was arrested on March 21, accused of conniving to exploit loopholes in the excise policy for liquor sellers' benefit, allegedly funding AAP's Goa electoral campaign. Kejriwal denies the charges, labeling ED's actions as extortion.
