Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court extended Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's judicial custody until July 3 in connection with the liquor excise policy case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) sought the extension citing the need for further investigation into alleged irregularities in the 2022 Delhi excise policy, previously revoked. \r
The ED presented evidence suggesting Kejriwal demanded Rs 100 crore as kickbacks. Kejriwal's defence opposed the extension, arguing lack of merit. Additional Solicitor General SV Raju noted the court's acknowledgment of the chargesheet on money laundering allegations. \r
AAP leaders Atishi and Raghav Chadha recently met Kejriwal in Tihar jail, where he expressed concern over Delhi's water and power crises despite his custody under what he terms as false charges by the central government.
