Delhi High Court Orders Retrospective Payment of Enhanced Remuneration to Law Researchers

The Delhi High Court directed payment of the enhanced monthly remuneration (₹ 80,000) to its law-researcher staff with retrospective effect from 01 October 2022. The bench held that the Administrative Committee’s decision was binding and the delay in payment unjustified. The ruling emphasises that contractual staff deployed for judicial support roles are entitled to timely implementation of remuneration decisions, and courts must enforce financial commitments made by judicial administrations.
