Delhi Weather: IMD Warns Of Cold Wave From Friday; AQI To Remain Severe In Many Areas

The IMD issued an alert warning of an approaching cold wave in Delhi starting Friday, with temperatures expected to dip sharply. The Air Quality Index (AQI) continues to remain in the “severe” category across multiple locations, exacerbated by low wind speed and winter inversion conditions. Authorities have advised residents, especially children, elderly and those with respiratory issues, to limit outdoor exposure. The report highlights the dual challenge of extreme weather and pollution in the NCR region and discusses measures being considered including traffic restrictions and emergency pollution-control interventions.
