DGFT amends Export Obligation Period with Pre-Import Condition in Appendix-4J of HBP
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has amended the Export Obligation Period (EOP) with a pre-import condition under Appendix 4J of the Handbook of Procedures (HBP). The amendment extends the export obligation period for certain goods, providing exporters with more time to fulfill their obligations under the Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) scheme. This change aims to ease the compliance burden on exporters by allowing them additional time to meet their export targets. The amendment reflects the DGFT’s ongoing efforts to support exporters and facilitate international trade by making procedural adjustments that consider the practical challenges faced by the industry.
