ED Files Prosecution Complaint in ₹158 Crore Investment Fraud Case Involving Sun Pariwar Group.

The Directorate of Enforcement, Hyderabad Zonal Office, has filed a Prosecution Complaint under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) against M/s Sun Pariwar Vupadi Management Pvt. Ltd. in connection with a large-scale investment fraud involving approximately ₹158 crore collected from over 10,000 investors through Ponzi-type schemes. The Special PMLA Court has taken cognizance of the complaint.
• ED initiated investigation based on multiple FIRs registered by the Telangana Police against M/s Sun Pariwar, Methuku Ravinder, and his close associates.
• The FIRs alleged cheating of the general public by luring gullible investors with promises of high returns on investments.
• The investments were routed through Sun Pariwar Group of companies and Sun Mutually Aided Thrift and Credit Co-operative Society Limited.
• Approximately ₹158 crore was collected from more than 10,000 investors, which was identified as Proceeds of Crime under the PMLA, 2002.
ED’s Investigation Findings• ED investigation revealed that Methuku Ravinder and his associates floated multiple fraudulent investment schemes promising returns of up to 100% per annum.
• For this purpose, several companies were established under the umbrella of the Sun Pariwar Group, including:
- Methuku Chit Fund Pvt. Ltd.
- Methuku Ventures Ltd.
- Metsun Nidhi Ltd.
- Methuku Herbal Limited
- Methuku Medical and Herbal Foundation
- The funds collected from investors were siphoned off and utilised for the purchase of various movable and immovable properties in the names of Methuku Ravinder and his associates.
• ED further found that Methuku Ravinder incorporated new entities in the names of his close associates, namely:
- M/s Pudami Agro Farm Lands
- M/s Pudami Infra Projects (India) Ltd.
- M/s Divine Infra Developers
Through these entities, fresh Ponzi schemes were launched to again lure investors with promises of high returns. Funds collected under these schemes were used to acquire properties in the names of the newly formed entities.
Attachment of Proceeds of Crime• ED had earlier provisionally attached various movable and immovable properties worth ₹25.20 crore.
• The attached properties belong to Methuku Ravinder, his family members, and his close aides and associates.
Present Status• A Prosecution Complaint has been filed before the Special PMLA Court.
• The Hon’ble Court has taken cognizance of the complaint on 10.12.2025.
• Further investigation is ongoing.
