The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Jaipur Zonal Office arrested Mahesh Mittal on 19.06.2024 under PMLA, 2002 for his involvement in the Jal Jeevan Mission Scam (JJM). \r
Produced before the Hon’ble Special Trial Court (PMLA), he was granted 5 days ED custody till 24.06.2024. ED initiated investigation based on an FIR by ACB, Jaipur alleging bribery of public servants for illegal protection, tender procurement, bill sanctioning, and covering irregularities in PHED works. \r
Mahesh Mittal, proprietor of M/s. Shri Ganpati Tubewell Company, secured JJM tenders with fake IRCON certificates by bribing PHED officials. ED found Mittal received and laundered Proceeds of Crime through his and family members’ bank accounts, investing in properties. \r
ED conducted searches seizing Rs. 11.03 Crore and previously arrested Peeyush Jain on 29.02.2024 and Padamchand Jain on 13.06.2024 in the case.
