Money Laundering (PMLA)
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Jaipur Zonal Office arrested Padamchand Jain on 13.06.2024 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, related to the Jal Jeevan Mission Scam (JJM). Produced before the Hon’ble Special Trial Court PMLA on 14.06.2024, Jain was granted 5 days ED custody till 18.06.2024. \r
The ED initiated the investigation based on an FIR by the ACB, Jaipur, alleging Jain and others bribed public servants to secure JJM tenders, falsified work completion certificates from IRCON, and laundered proceeds of crime through multiple bank accounts and investments. ED searches have yielded seizures amounting to Rs. 11.03 Crore. \r
Peeyush Jain was previously arrested on 29.02.2024 in connection with the same case.
