The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Lucknow Zonal office has provisionally attached 121-acre land and buildings of Glocal University Saharanpur, valued at Rs. 4,440 Crore, owned by Abdul Waheed Educational and Charitable Trust, in an illegal mining case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. \r
The investigation, based on an FIR by CBI New Delhi, implicates Mohd. Iqbal's group for illegal renewal of sand mining leases in Saharanpur. Funds from mining firms, operated by Iqbal's group, were illicitly routed to the Trust through sham entities and bogus transactions. \r
Md. Iqbal is currently absconding, while his family members face imprisonment in related cases.
