India’s Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) has received proposals worth INR 1.15 lakh crore, nearly double its initial target. The scheme projects production of INR 10.34 lakh crore and creation of 1.41 lakh jobs, surpassing original estimates. Incentives include turnover-linked, capex-linked, and hybrid benefits, valid through FY 2032. About 60% of proposals came from MSMEs. The scheme is seen as a key boost for India’s electronics self-reliance under PLI and “Make in India” initiatives.
