The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced concessions to facilitate the processing of claims for deceased members whose Aadhaar details are not linked to their accounts. This amendment, announced on May 17, 2024, streamlines claim settlements by eliminating the Aadhaar seeding requirement, albeit with conditions.\r
Each case necessitates approval from the Officer in Charge (OIC) through an e-office file, with thorough documentation of verification procedures and adherence to additional due diligence measures to prevent fraud. EPFO addresses challenges such as outdated Aadhaar information, deactivated accounts, and technical validation issues by temporarily allowing physical claims and emphasizing detailed verification processes. \r
Furthermore, in cases where a member passes away without an Aadhaar, nominees may attest the Joint Declaration (JD) form, and their Aadhaar may be recorded in the system. This initiative aims to expedite claim processing and enhance accessibility to EPF benefits for the families of deceased members.
