FinMin Amends Import Duty Rates on Crude Edible Oils and Extends Exemption for Yellow Peas
The Finance Ministry adjusted import duties on edible oils (including refined palm oil, palmolein, and soyabean oil) and extended exemptions for yellow peas to stabilize domestic prices. These measures aim to balance trade policies with food inflation concerns and ensure sufficient domestic supply. The import duty on refined palm oil was reduced to 12.5% from 17.5%, and for refined palmolein, it was cut from 17.5% to 12.5%. The exemption on yellow peas was extended until October 2025.
