Under the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jitan Ram Manjhi, former Bihar CM and leader of Hindustani Awam Morcha, has been appointed as the new MSME minister. Manjhi, 79, won the Gaya seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, joining the NDA alliance and defeating RJD’s Kumar Sarvjeet by 1,01,812 votes. \r
Previously, Manjhi was an MLA from Congress and RJD and served as a minister in the Nitish Kumar government in 2015. He replaces Narayan Rane. Shobha Karandlaje has been appointed as the new Minister of State in both the MSME and Labour and Employment Ministries.
