FPIs dump ₹10,355 crore in Indian markets as selling streak extends to June; choose THIS market on cheap valuation
Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) have been consistently selling in Indian markets since the start of fiscal year 2024-25, driven by factors such as election volatility, global cues, and a hawkish stance from central banks. As of June 7, FPIs have sold ₹14,794 crore in equities and ₹10,355 crore in total, including debt and hybrid instruments, according to NSDL data. \r
While FPIs briefly turned net buyers in Indian equities in May after a selling streak in April, continued sell-offs in the debt market persisted. However, FPI activity saw significant inflows in March 2024, buoyed by global cues and expectations of a rate cut following signals from the US Federal Reserve.
