From Insider to Rival: Zetwerk sues Ayr Energy over alleged confidential data misuse
Manufacturing platform Zetwerk has filed a lawsuit against Ayr Energy and its founder (a former Zetwerk executive), alleging misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duty and unfair competition. The complaint claims Ayr built its rapid success—reportedly over US$250 million in contracted orders—by using confidential data, customer lists, pricing strategy and supply-chain information of Zetwerk. The lawsuit seeks injunctive relief, destruction of proprietary materials, disgorgement and around US$100 million in damages. The case highlights the risks of talent migration, insider data transfer, contested intellectual-property rights and the legal friction between start-ups positioning as rivals once inside the system.
