The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, a managing director at State Bank of India (SBI), as the next chairman. Setty joined SBI in 1988 and became an MD in 2020, overseeing International Banking, Global Markets, and Technology. \r
With a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and certification from the Indian Institute of Bankers, Setty has extensive experience in various banking sectors. FSIB, established in 2022 and headed by Bhanu Pratap Sharma, interviewed three MDs for this role. Setty's appointment follows Dinesh Kumar Khara, whose tenure was extended until August 28, 2024.
