Ghaziabad consumer forum tells insurance co to pay Rs 2L for car theft 10 years ago

A consumer forum in Ghaziabad has ordered an insurance company to pay ₹2 lakh for a car theft that occurred 10 years ago. The forum, which comprised president Praveen Kumar Jain and members Shailja Sachan and RP Singh, also directed the insurance company to pay an additional ₹5,000 as compensation for mental agony and litigation costs. The decision was based on the fact that the insurance company had used a blank document signed by the policyholder to cancel the policy.
