RBI's gold reserves value jumps 57% - The value of the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) gold assets has seen a substantial increase of 57.12%, reaching ₹4,31,624.8 crore as of March 31, 2025. This surge is primarily attributed to the addition of 54.13 metric tonnes of gold to the RBI's holdings, bringing the total to 879.58 metric tonnes, and also due to the appreciation in global gold prices and the depreciation of the Indian Rupee against the US Dollar. This increase reinforces India's gold reserves, which are now the seventh largest globally, serving as a crucial buffer for the economy.
