Government Of Telangana Establishes Real Estate Appellate Tribunal

The Telangana Government recently established the Real Estate Appellate Tribunal (REAT) under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016. Appointed members include Justice A. Rajasheker Reddy (retd) as chairperson, Pradeep Kumar Reddy Palle as judicial member, and Chitra Ramchandran as technical and administrative member. \r
Previously, the Telangana State Value Added Tax Appellate Tribunal functioned as the interim Real Estate Appellate Tribunal. Section 43(1) of RERA mandates the establishment of such tribunals within one year of the Act's commencement. \r
Telangana's REAT joins the existing 24 regular and 4 interim Real Estate Appellate Tribunals across India, as reported by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
