CBIC Chairman Sanjay Kumar Agarwal announced that decisions from the GST Council’s 53rd meeting, including an amnesty scheme for early GST issues and a sunset date for profiteering complaints, will be incorporated into the Finance Bill for 2024-25, to be tabled with the Budget later this month. The meeting also proposed rate rationalisations and clarified GST law amendments.
