The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has provided a final opportunity for taxpayers to report the Input Tax Credit (ITC) reversal opening balance. Effective from September 15, 2024, until October 31, 2024, taxpayers can declare their cumulative ITC reversals that have not been claimed. This update follows revisions in the reporting requirements for Form GSTR-3B, introduced via Notification No. 14/2022. A new Electronic Credit Reversal and Reclaimed Statement ledger has been introduced to help taxpayers report their cumulative ITC reversals. This step ensures accuracy and prevents errors in reporting ITC claims. This measure is crucial for ensuring compliance and proper credit reconciliation before the system imposes restrictions. Any amendments to declared balances are allowed until November 30, 2024, after which strict reporting measures will be enforced. This extension benefits both monthly and quarterly filers who need to update their reversal data.
